U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue today penned an open letter to all members of Congress demanding an end to the legislative gridlock that is holding progress hostage.
At this point Congress must more fully turn its attention to and accelerate its effort to enact tax reform, which will grow the economy and create jobs. We know many in Congress share this priority. It has been 30 years since our tax code was updated and American businesses and workers are suffering as a result. True tax reform is going to require compromise and give and take.
On July 12, 2017, Maxine Turner, founder of Cuisine Unlimited and chair of the U.S. Chamber Small Business Council, sent a letter to Chairman Roskam and Ranking Member Doggett thanking them for holding a hearing on the need for tax reform. The hearing will take place July 13, 2017.
This letter was sent to Reps. Kind, Jenkins, Cole, DelBene, LaMalfa, Reichert, and Torres is support of there recently introduced bill, H.R. 3138.
Last week, the U.S. Chamber sent a message to Congress urging them to reform tax policy.
The nation’s top business organizations urged Congress to reach common agreement on a tax reform plan and move quickly on legislation in a letter sent today to Congressional leadership. The business groups said that no other reforms under consideration in Congress are as important as pro-growth comprehensive tax reform.
